Pool Maintenance Worker II
Applications no longer accepted.
Provides for day-to-day maintenance operations for the District aquatic facilities with emphasis on maintaining safe, enjoyable, aesthetically pleasing and well maintained pool facilities and features for the community’s use. The salary range for this position is $3,723-$4,525 per month. Initial salary placement is dependent upon the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Athletics
Adult Sports
Scorekeeper
Part-time, approximately 39 games per week, temporary year-round.
Duties: Scorekeepers unlock field box, sets up some equipment,
hands out team packets, receives line-up cards and fills out score
sheets, keeps official score of games, operates the scoreboard,
responsible for opening and closing facility, files appropriate
forms, puts bases and other equipment away, locks field box, minor
cleaning around the backstop/court, and other related work as required.
Qualifications: Minimum age 16+. Working knowledge of softball,
soccer, and/or basketball. Experience working with scorebooks and
scoreboards recommended.
Softball/Soccer
Field Maintenance
Part-time, approximately 2–6hours per week, weekends, seasonal
March–November.
Duties: Will be responsible for
leveling dragging, and watering down the infields;
maintaining surface of infields; filling out and
filing appropriate forms; and keeping the grounds
clean of debris and safe.
Qualifications: Minimum age 18+.
Good physical condition, ability to follow written
and oral communications, and must be able to lift
60 pounds. A valid Class 3 Driver's License with
a good driving record is required.
Gym
Coordinator Position Currently Filled.
Part-time, approximately 2–6 hours per week, week nights
and weekends, temporary year round.
Duties: Opens, sets up, manages
facility during programs, and closes Gym. Programs
include Badminton, Basketball, and Volleyball.
Qualifications: Minimum age 18+.
Good physical condition, ability to follow written
and oral communications, and must be able to lift
60 pounds. Knowledge of the particular sport for
which you are applying.

Aquatic Aide (minimum 15 years of age)
Limited
volunteer experience as a Junior Guard. Works
under direct supervision of the Lesson Manager. Gives
basic water adjustment skills, Levels 1-3. Has the ability
to effectively and courteously interact with the public and
staff. Must be able to clearly communicate, as well as
understand both verbal and written instructions. Has
the ability to lift 40 pounds effectively. Performs a
variety of duties and other work as required.
Lifeguard (minimum 15 years of age)
Must possess certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid,
and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and must successfully
complete Title 22 course. Provides aquatic supervision
and safety by preventing loss of life or injury to patrons. Works
under direct supervision of the Head Guard. Must be
able to clearly communicate, as well as understand both verbal
and written instructions. Has the ability to lift 40
pounds effectively. Performs a variety of duties and
other work as required.
Swim Instructor (minimum 16 years of age)
Must be an experienced swimmer, or possess a minimum of two
years Junior Guard or Aquatic Aide experience. Provides
aquatic instruction for the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim
program (infant through adult). Must possess WSI, First
Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications
and successfully complete Title 22 course. Lifeguard
Training certificate highly desirable. Works under
direct supervision of the Lesson Manager. Must be able
to clearly communicate, as well as understand both verbal
and written instructions. Has the ability to lift 40
pounds effectively. Performs a variety of duties and
other work as required.
Head Lifeguard (minimum 18 years of age)
Must have at least two years experience as a lifeguard and
possess certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and
CPR/AED For the Professional Rescuer and successfully complete
the Title 22 course. Instructor level certifications
(LGI, CPR, etc.) are highly desirable. Provides aquatic
supervision for recreation swim, pool picnics, birthday parties
and private pool parties. Must be able to clearly communicate,
as well as understand both verbal and written instructions. Has
the ability to lift 40 pounds effectively. Provides
direct supervision of lifeguards, cashiers and junior guards. Performs
a variety of duties and other work as required.
Lesson Manager (minimum 18 years of age)
Must
have at least two years experience as a swim instructor and
possess certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED
For the Professional Rescuer, and WSI and successfully complete
the Title 22 course. Instructor or Instructor Trainer level
certifications (LGI, CPR, WSI-T, etc.) are highly desirable. Assigns
lesson aides, instructors and junior guards and oversees daily
operations of the Summer School Program and AM, PM or Saturday
lessons. Must be able to clearly communicate, as well as
understand both verbal and written instructions. Has the
ability to lift 40 pounds effectively. Provides direct
supervision of instructors, aquatic aides, lifeguards and junior
guards. Performs a variety of duties and other work as required.

Park Maintenance Worker I – Applications accepted Feb 22, 2010 – Mar. 12, 2010, 4:30 pm
40-hour per week position which includes Saturdays and/or Sunday
and holidays during a season extending approximately AprilSeptember.
Under supervision and direction, this employee performs a variety of routine tasks in the maintenance of park features, facilities, and landscape including athletic fields, and does other related work as required. The work includes a variety of tasks, which are generally physical in nature, handling equipment and material (in excess of 50 lbs.). Applicants may be required to demonstrate their ability to physically perform the required work prior to employment.
Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instruction. Be in good physical condition. Have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record with no restrictions on insurance coverage. A DMV printout of your driving record is required.

June and runs for six weeks, Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 am–12:20
