Interactive Fire Engine Bench

In 1994, artist Donna Billick was commissioned to create a park bench by the Pleasant Hill District Arts Commission. The result was the delightful Interactive Fire Engine Bench, originally situated in the playground of Pleasant Hill Park. It is made of durable red ceramic tile, concrete and reinforced steel. It resembles a child's toy fire engine, with actual fire engine parts incorporated into the design. Not only a highly regarded artist, Donna is also a first response EMT, firefighter and mother. She incorporates her incredible artistic talents, first hand professional experience and parental concerns into her functional art pieces.

Location: This piece is bein refurbished. It's new home will be in Pleasant Hill Park inside the fenced Tot Lot play area.
